The West Yellowhead Regional Waste Authority (WYRWA) is a regional waste authority covering the municipalities of Yellowhead County and the Towns of Edson, Hinton and Jasper. The West Yellowhead Regional Waste Authority created the West Yellowhead Recycling Society in November of 2015 to help enhance the education and promotion of the authorities vision and mission throughout the region.
The Vision and mission of the WYRWA are:
- The Authority is to be a leader in regional waste reduction through collaborative efforts to reduce, reuse, recycle and recover and the effective management of waste in the West Yellowhead Region
- The purpose of the authority is to manage waste on a regional basis through the promotion of environmental stewardship focused on the reduction of waste disposed at the West Yellowhead Regional Landfill
