Community Gardens – Growing More than Food!
Not since the “victory gardens” of the first and second world wars have community gardens seen such a surge in popularity. What is driving this groundswell of community gardens across the country? What are some of the benefits of community gardens compared to gardening on your own? How can we design community gardens to promote healthy communities, food literacy, and bio-diversity? Ron Berezan (aka “The Urban Farmer”) will draw from his many years of work with community gardens in Edmonton and his experiences in urban agriculture in Canada, the United States, Cuba and beyond to explore these and many other questions.
